The silence was deafening!! I didn't mean to look for another cat, but I browsed a local "buy and sell" online and saw Boots. He needed a great home and I need to start to heal. At first I just called him my companion, but now he (and his adopted brother Ozzie) are fully engaged in my heart!!

Brenda, Boots & OzzieBoots, Ozzie and Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03589524480201801376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5546810813838413983.post-89824607725071721432009-05-23T15:20:28.885-07:002009-05-23T15:20:28.885-07:00The last time I lost my cats, I couldn't imagine a...The last time I lost my cats, I couldn't imagine a life without cats. The only reason why I waited the 3 weeks I did was because I was dealing with a family wedding and all of the relatives. I think it is a testiment to how much love you had and received for/from Mortimer that you want another cat so soon.

Tara (mom to Camie's Kitties)Motor Home Catshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16651108448042750552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5546810813838413983.post-51277954027915330362009-05-23T02:56:23.834-07:002009-05-23T02:56:23.834-07:00Bert and Ernie, I am sorry that you lost your budd...Bert and Ernie, I am sorry that you lost your buddy this week. I think that Mortimer would love that you could take another kitty into your homes and hearts, and would be proud to share you.

After I lost my cat Puss, I planned to get Poppy soon after. Once she had moved in I thought what had I done, as she was very different to Puss and found it difficult at first. But, that was just an adjustment stage for her and me and once we were both settled in, I knew that she was special.

We look forward to following your new adventures.

Julie and Poppyq

New ZealandPoppy Qhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12271337805172036471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5546810813838413983.post-63863426830649553192009-05-23T01:04:02.222-07:002009-05-23T01:04:02.222-07:00Mortimer would totally understand, I'm sure. You just have to be careful that you aren't rushing into it- make sure the cat you get is one you really want, rather than just rushing to get any old cat. And if you really want to know what Mortimer thinks, go to wherever you memorialized him, or his favorite spot, etc, and meditate there for awhile. I'm sure he'll tell you it's OK. I went to the spot out back where Texas is buried before we picked up the kittens, and made sure to let Tex know I will always love him before we went and got them.Niko and Cloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14661442599258087110noreply@blogger.com
