How to Tell if your Cat is Plotting to Kill You
Some human is posting these blatant lies about my pure feline intentions. He must be stopped before he reveals any more of my secrets, uh, I mean, these damn dirty lies!

Martini on the Rocks
I saw this article in the Pearl District Neighborhood Notes. This is a great opportunity for you humans to help out some street kitties.
Have a Cocktail. Save a Kitten.
by MT21
Event Date: 11/03/2008 05:00 PM
Event Location: Vault Martini, 226 NW 12th Avenue (at Everett)
http://milagro.org/A-Miracle/Performance-Presentacion/MiracleMainstage/muertos-08.html
Vault Martini and Neighborhood Notes are joining forces on Monday, November 3 in a happy hour benefit for the Feral Cat Coalition. The event is from 5-7pm. There will be a happy hour menu through the event: $5 martinis and food specials!
Thousands of cats and kittens in the Portland Metro are in need of homes. Feral is another term for cats born in the wild. These wild cats are often a result of mama cats dying during birth or from pets that have not been spayed or neutered. Sex education for your pet, cat adoption and community awareness will put and end to feral cats.
The Feral Cat coalition dedicates their efforts to finding homes for thousands of furry little friends who have been left in the wild.
Don't worry, we won't be sending you home with a kitten. However, 15% of your tab will be donated to saving cats and kittens across Portland. Party favors will be sent home with all cat owners.
We hope that you can make it.

In Praise of Black Cats
Praise seems appropriate on our special day.
Local kitty blog The Cats Meow, reminds us today that we black cats are indeed genetic marvels. The genes that make my fur so dark and luxurious are recessive. It takes two copies of the black fur gene to make us black cats so mysterious...

Pom-Pom - Mighty Huntress
If only I were a better artist, damn these paws! I have the perfect trashy '30's pulp novel cover in my mind with that title, featuring Pom-Pom the upstairs neighbor.
Its hunting season, and she's been taking advantage of the healthy squirrel population that passes through the area en route to the giant walnut tree across the street. Ernie took me out to gawk tonight when he got home from work, and there she was, comfortably resting in her "squirrel stand," waiting for an unsuspecting fluffy tailed rodent to wander by.

I'm not judgin, but it seems Pom-Pom is getting wider and the squirrel population is getting scared. Damn girl, at least clean up those fluffy tail parts you left in the alley.

She looks like some sort of crazy squirrel eating monkey!

Happy 167th
On the twenty second of October Ernie will be turning 167 in cat years. In human years it's the big 30. I am a little distraught over his b-day not due to his age, but the fact that all the attention will be on someone other than yours truly. Maybe putting on a birthday hat will be the cute distraction to turn the tide in my favor!

He's a cat, flushing the toilet
the music video... (Caution, the audio is really loud on this clip, way too loud for feline ears. Turn it down a bit before you press play.)

Flags of Tastiness
Well I'm in trouble again and sulking, but whats new. Today Burt tossed me off the desk twice due to the fact that I enjoy eating the tabs he has put in his school books. I figured that these little crinkly pieces of brightly colored plastic where being placed in secret spots for me to seek out and destroy, judging by Burt's response, this was not the case. It also doesn't help maters that the tabs of greatest importance are the most tasty.

Mean In Japan
Not even cats are safe from the humiliation of Japanese game shows.
Unsuspecting homeless felines are lured in with fish of increasing sizes, until they're so large that many cats give up, but the smart cats know to just eat the fish down to a size that is manageable, then carry it off to a quiet spot to eat the good bits.
The video is kinda long, and Ernie said it took awhile to figure out exactly what was going on because he says its "all in Japanese," whatever that means...

Brown Menace Strikes Again
This is a warning to all cats in the Midwest! The Brown Menace has come out of retirement and is once again causing mischief. I have put out this warning because I know that I have readers in Ohio and that's within the Brown Menace's sphere of influence. You have to read the story for yourself on My Other Blog's a Future Blog, luckily our good friend Sidney made it out OK but we are wondering how she will manage covering up all that dog puke.

A Word From Mortimer
This is more of a statement than a word, and that statement is "I am not a hand towel!" That's right Burt, I see through you and your wet-handed petting. I know that I am merely a means of drying your hands even though the dish towel is just a few feet away.
Do you know how long it takes me to clean my luscious fur? Its not like I roll out of the bed looking this good, no, it takes hours of grooming and rest.
