Feline Upper Respiratory Infection

Burt here.
The original title for this post was "Holy SH*T," but I don't like to work blue.
Olaf is about 80% recovered and I have to say that a Feline URI is not always just a "kitty cold" as it is so often described. Some cases are more like the Plague, genetically spliced with the Ebola virus and some TB thrown in for good measure. "Kitty cold" sounds cute and brings to mind images of a kitten with a box of Kleenex, sipping hot tea.
Olaf's "cold" was four trips to the vet (plus one house call), three different antibiotics, four days of around the clock force feedings, and five days of SQ fluids. This doesn't include all the injections and pills at the vet's office.
One good thing to come out of this is that I feel totally bonded to this cat, and saving a kitten who probably wouldn't have made it otherwise kinda helps complete the cycle, somehow in the grand scheme, it seems to help make up for the cat that just couldn't be saved.
I have to give special thanks to Dr. Jepson, without her, Olaf defiantly would not have made it. She want above and beyond the call of duty!

Hi there Olaf! Welcome to the world. We're just occasional blog users. We visited Camie's Kitties and read about your family losing the one who came before you. Last summer we lost our big sister Kali. Mom wanted to come by and say she feels for your dads' loss. Now we read that you've been fighting for your life. We're glad that you're on the mend. We hope that you get well soon and start enjoying life. It sounds like you've had a very rough start.

How is she now?! I will try to search for this formula, perhaps ask the vet. I hope my cat is safe from this kind of infection.

My cat suffered from the same injury before and thank goodness she recovered pretty fast and is doing really well now.
