Broadway Veterinary Portland

The real title for this post should be "Worst Day Ever" but for search reasons I have chosen the Broadway title. This was a bi-annual checkup to keep my Impending Death Syndrome (IDS) in check. It seems that B&E are doing a good job, my BP was 114 and my heart murmur today was level two. That's down from a level three! I still have a thyroid test that comes back Monday, so keep your paws crossed that all is well.

Well, the boys are back from Manzanita and as promised, they brought me a piece of art. Fish this time, a departure from all the bird art they've been hanging above my dining nook. I'm getting it framed, will post a pic of it when it is complete.
Here's a couple snapshots from their weekend at the coast that were categorized as "cat related."

Four Paws on the Beach, Manzanita's local pet store.

Paper Anniversary

Wow, I have been so busy napping that I totally forgot that the 15th was my anniversary with B&E. I cant believe how time has flown by. My memory was jogged by coming across my saved profile, I went by Moscow because I thought it sounded tough. Note that there is no mention of a very audible hart mummer, and can you spot the bad pun.

Moscow

Domestic Short Hair-black

Size: Large
Age: Adult
Sex: Male
ID: LSE

Notes:

Moscow is almost 4 years old and a super sweet boy who gets along with dogs. Definitely the strong, silent type, he's affectionate and friendly. At 14 pounds, he's an armful, but he'd really like to be your armful. He's a peace-loving kitty who's hoping you'll soon be "Russian" in to get him.

FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY the "Better with a Buddy" program is back! Adopt one cat or kitten and get $50 off of the adoption price of a second cat or kitten!

** Please note: All kittens must be altered before they can go home with their new family. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Kittens are generally altered between 10 and 11 weeks of age because we have a surgery minimum weight requirement of 2.25 lbs. If you are doing a pre-adopt (adopting a kitten before alter surgery) please inquire about the kitten's current weight. Kittens gain about 1/4 of a lb per week and you can estimate alter date from there. Remember this is just an estimate. Thank you for understanding that these policies are based on ensuring the best possible start for our kittens.

Big Bird

The Alberta Street fair was last weekend and Burt and Ernie went out and promised to find me another painting for my art collection. Right now I only have two pieces, and a collection is three or more.
Long story short, they returned empty handed and all I received were some sloppy drunk pettings, and this lousy picture of a papier-mâché pigeon. Ick!
This weekend they're going to Manzanita and they best not return empty handed, if they know whats good for the house plants!

I love birds, but even I don't care for pigeons...

Girls That Cry

My crush on the upstairs neighbor has finaly ended due to a fourth rescue by Burt. I'm a modern male that deserves a hip modern female that can fend for hersellf and not need rescued every week, the count is now four. Why are the pretty ones alwys so needy?

Spider Candy

I'm in trouble with Burt. He has been bitten by a spider for the fourth time. He tells me that one of my only jobs is to be the spider hunter in the house. He has also accused me of scaring the spiders out from under the bed and into the sheets. While I do enjoy my under the bed lair, I can not be held responsible for the spiders' actions. Due to my busy napping regimen, I don't have time for spider hunts. I think the easiest solution would be for Burt to start sleeping with bug spray on.

Snoop Dogg

This commercial for Snoop Dogg's new reality show is a fairly good representation of how we cats look at humans. Yeah, Snoop Dogg has a reality show....

Waste Not Want Not

My new bag of Felidae was opened this morning and Burt almost threw out four whole kibbles! Luckily I was there to point out Burt's wasteful ways.

Kitten Kong

I found this and deemed it post worthy, the artist is Aaron Renier

Nursing School

September 22 is when Burt goes back to school and as always he's ahead of the game. Today he purchased his books and by the looks of it I'll not be getting much attention!

I'm helping Burt brush up on math, (watch those decimals Burt).

Lazy Day

It's barely September and I fear that fall is upon us here in Portland. The days are getting shorter, the air is crisp and soon the rain will wash the summer stink out to sea. The best thing about fall is that my birds return from their summer of fornication to the feeder outside my favorite window. I think I will just lay here and wait for their return.
