Kishigawa Line on the Wakayama Electric Railway in Japan. In 2007 she was appointed Staionmaster at a previously untended staion along the line. Since then, ridership is way up on the once struggling railway. Tourists visit this out of the way station just to see Tama. Great links about Tama, Mortimer, thank you. I saw her on the BBC site a while ago, but there were no videos and only one little picture.
I really like her and her hat. She's so placid amidst all that attention. I hope she gets some holidays.
